Dr. Daniel Leonard is a board-certified pediatrician. He serves as Director of the Neonatal ICU and Inpatient Pediatric Hospitalist Service at Mary Lanning Hospital. He is faculty at UNMC and a staff physician with Omaha Children’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. James Lawler is an infectious disease physician trained in tropical medicine and public health. His career has focused on emerging infectious diseases, pandemic threats, and health system and public health preparedness. Dr. Lawler currently serves as Executive Director for International Programs and Innovation for the Global Center for Health Security as well as the Deputy Medical Director for the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC).
Dr. Lawler held a news conference on August 5, 2021 to explain the Delta variant of COVID-19.
